    $4.8M trust gift bolsters education, health and athletics at West Virginia University

    A $4.8 million trust gift from longtime West Virginia University supporter David G. Allen is benefitting five programs across campus that reflect his diverse interests in education, health, athletics and more. Allen, of Clarksburg, died Sept. 21, 2017, at the age of 67. Prior to his passing, he established a living trust that provided about $960,000 each to the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences, WVU Cancer Institute, WVU Libraries, School of Medicine and Mountaineer Athletic Club. These trust gifts were recently completed.

    Join us Sept. 14 for the Virtual Pink Party

    The annual Pink Party benefits Bonnie’s Bus, which has provided more than 20,000 mammograms to West Virginia women since 2009, many of whom are uninsured and unable to cover the cost of a mammogram otherwise.  110 women and counting have been diagnosed with breast cancer following a screening on the Bus.  Although the world has changed in 2020, Bonnie's Bus keeps rolling and the need for its services continues to grow. This year, out of an abundance of caution, the decision has been made to host The Pink Party virtually. Fellow supporters and friends of the WVU Cancer Institute can safely support Bonnie's Bus and the women of West Virginia remotely, all while enjoying a fully interactive experience including special presentations, contests, and auction.
