Edward Harrison is a healthcare executive with nearly 30 years of experience in delivery system, managed care administration, and healthcare not-for-profit management. Prior to becoming the vice president at the WVU Cancer Institute, he served in various leadership roles over 15 years with UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh, including vice president of operations for UPMC Pinnacle, vice president of clinical support services, and executive administrator of the departments of Otolaryngology and Plastic Surgery.
Previously, Harrison was the chief operating officer of the Pittsburgh Regional Healthcare Initiative, director of managed care administration and director of marketing/planning for Baptist Memorial Healthcare Corporation, manager of marketing and communications/business consultant for HealthCentral, and contract manager/product manager for Phoenix Health Plan.
Harrison is passionate about organizational and programmatic development and partnering to maximize value for patients and families. He has a demonstrated commitment to research and teaching having published and presented in a number of national and regional forums.
Harrison earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Washington University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Carleton College.
